Domnik
Mack is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, writing music for
film, TV, theater and the concert stage.
Born and raised in Germany Domnik began studying classical piano
at age 5. Later he picked up the guitar, performing in local bands
and finally the upright bass, studying jazz as well as classical
repertoire. While attending the prestigious Amsterdam Conservatory
of Music he became a sought after performer and active member of
the Amsterdam music scene. Appearing on TV/radio shows, in festivals
and touring throughout Europe.
After he graduated with honors he moved to New York City quickly
becoming a part of the thriving downtown music scene. He has shared
the stage with such notable greats as Frank Wes, Dick Oats, Seamus
Blake, Maria Schneider, Ack van Rooyen, Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton.
Performance venues include the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam,NL), Vredenburg
(Utrecht, NL), The Blue Note (NYC), Birdland (NYC) and Smoke (NYC).
Composing film scores made perfect sense for Domnik. Even as a child
he was fascinated with moving images. He shot animated movies with
his dad's Super 8 camera and later recorded the soundtrack on tape
using piano, drums and sound effects. Today, collaborating with
filmmakers all over the world he has re-discovered this fascination
with movies.
Recently Domnik has scored 3 feature films, a play and numerous
short films. |
